The Textures Engine
Bass Textures uses the same engine as Cello Textures Evolved. The central part of this engine is its grid of articulations --4 different articulation shapes, each recorded with 3 different timbres. Together, combinations of these shapes and timbres combine to create colorful string gestures.
For example, you can layer a Bite + Fast Swell, or layer an Accent + Slow Swell, to create different types of sforzando-piano gestures. To add more variety timbrally you could use a Clouds articulation to get an airy sound, but then add some edge to it by mixing in a Wires articulation too. Textures can play forward, backwards, and looped, which opens up even more layering possibilities.
Once you've layered articulations together, you can shape things much further by giving each articulation its own volume, pan, velocity sensitivity, transposition, tuning, envelope settings, filtering, saturation, and delay and reverb sends.
Thanks to the articulation layering and the built-in effects, the gestural possibilities are nearly endless, yet laid out in an intuitive way.
